Babbitt is also utilized in wiper rings in Oxygen compressors to prevent any sparking or heat
at the rod surface. AAVOLYN engineers recommend Babbitt in these applications over
TeflonŽ wipers because it is a metal and is able to maintain wiping edge over a longer period
of time, whereas, wiping edges on TeflonŽ wipers have a tendency to round off and lose their
wiping capabilities.
