AVA31 comes from the family of carbon filled TeflonŽ. By critically controlling filler particle
size, AAVOLYN engineers are able to obtain a better mixture of ingredients during blending.
This improvement reduces the size of voids in the molded material. The molding and heat
treating process was also altered to enhance the physical properties of AVA31. Field test
results indicate good wear life in such difficult services as bone dry Nitrogen and boil off gas
compressors. No special filters appear necessary to control wear particles from entering the
gas stream, a problem with other materials.
