Grain Structure of our AVA01 bronze(SAE64 modified) is selected and closely controlled to
be compatible with the high RPM's of today's compressors, lower micro-inch rod finishes and
more sophisticated rod materials. This high lead bronze sand casting has large lead
particles interspersed throughout in an uneven manner. It is the very lead particles
interspersed in the bronze sand casting that promotes good frictional properties and
minimizes the rubbing action at the mating surface and the wear on the shaft and cylinder
wall. It is highly recommended for usage in lubricated air. ammonia, inert gases, (hydrogen,
nitrogen) lubricated, refinery gas sweet, and natural gas (sweet gas).
